Kambo
Kambo is a powerful and natural medicine that helps to treat depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior and addiction. Kambo releasees trauma stored in the body, and can help to alleviate physical pain and inflammation. Kambo contains multiple beneficial peptides include one heptapeptide that is 40 times stronger than morphine.
A true divine gift from Mother Earth ‘Pachamama’, Kambo is the secretion from “Giant Waxy Green Monkey Tree Frog” (Phyllomedusa Bicolor) known as the "Vacina de Floresta” by Indigenous groups where they live in the Amazon rainforest. This special frog does not have any predators, even snakes spit the frog out if they swallow it. The only real threat is the elimination of its natural habitat.
Kambo is a non-psychoactive and is legal in the United States. Kambo’s secretions are naturally used as defense mechanism and deadly to most animals. While it provides many health benefits for humans. The medicine is then applied through superficial burns that are made into the skin. Once Kambo is applied, the immediate effects bring on increased heart rate, heat through out the body, light-headedness, sweating, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and/or crying. While the experience can be intense in the moment, recipents report that afterwards they notice many benefits physically and spiritually.
Benefits
The use of Kambo differs amongst tribes but the main indigenous uses revolve around lifting ‘Panema’ – an indigenous name for dark or negative energy and for Hunting Magic – they believe it improves their speed and energy during hunting and that it makes the hunter invisible by temporarily eliminating human odor. There are many ways to use Kambo medically, for example: increasing energy and stamina, reducing pain, cleansing, detox, strengthen the mind and body, malaria, snake bites, fevers, infections.
Kambo is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anaesthetic substances found in the world and one of the strongest, natural ways to strengthen the immune system.
It detoxes the liver, kidneys and the intestines so it’s a powerful cleanser. Immediate and short term effects include enhanced mood, alertness, clarity, focus, energy and increased resistance to stress, tiredness, hunger and thirst.

How is it administered?
Kambo should always be taken with a trained practitioner and supervising the treatments at all times.
Kambo is intense and comes on quickly. The unpleasant effects are strong and immediate but over within 20 - 40 minutes.
The Kambo comes to us dried and is mixed with a small amount of water and divided into small dots. Then small points called gates are placed into the surface of the skin. The top thin layer of skin is blistered with a hot incense and the skin is peeled off to expose the epidermis underneath – this is the same as when you have a blister and the skin rubs off. There is no blood. The number and position of the points varies from person to person depending on individual needs. If you have a series of treatments in the same session, the same points are reused. The small dots of Kambo are applied to the points. This is the only way to take Kambo – it is not safe to ingest it or introduce it into the blood stream directly.
The Kambo enters directly into the Lymphatic System so the effect is very fast. Most people experience a warm to hot flush on the upper body and face along with increased heart rate. At this point, different people will react in different ways. Some will feel dizzy, foggy or spaced out. Some people have swollen lips or face and slight skin tingling. The Kambo will be racing around your body, scanning it for problems and then going directly to work on those areas. You may experience a throbbing or burning sensation in those areas for a short while. Kambo is not psychoactive so does not produce hallucinations but can produce a short altered state of reality in some people and many people receive insights and messages about living a healthier life. Then you will purge all the toxins out. This purging process works on a physical and emotional level. You may feel tired at this point and need to rest. Within a short time – usually an hour or so you will feel much better and you can drink and eat normally. After a good night’s sleep you will start to feel the real benefits.
The burn marks will heal and fade with time but depending on your skin color and type you may always have small visible scars. Most people see their Kambo scars as a badge of honor. The same points can be reused after approximately 3 months. After the dots of Kambo are removed, the points are dressed with Dragon’s Blood (Peruvian tree sap). This helps them to heal faster and ensures they stay free from infection until they scab.

Kambo is a powerful medicine and should be treated with respect. Though there are few conditions that would keep a healthy person from taking Kambo, the following list of conditions, though not exhaustive, would be contraindicative -
Serious heart issues, including heart surgery
Stroke, blood clots, or aneurysm
Brain hemorrhage
Pregnant, planning to become pregnant soon, or currently breast feeding
Taking prescription medications for low blood pressure
Severe epilepsy
Chemotherapy or radiation within the last 4 months
Recovering from major surgery
Taking immune suppressants because of an organ transplant
Addison’s disease
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
History of psychological disorders or other serious mental health issues (excluding anxiety, depression, PTSD)
Lack of capacity to make a decision to receive Kambo
Under 18 years of age
Cautions
Serious eating disorder
Current use of sleep aids and weight loss supplements
Fasting for a week prior or after Kambo, or low on electrolytes
Colonics, enemas, liver flushes, or any water based detox should be avoided for 3 days before and 3 days after Kambo
Have taken toad medicine from Bufo Alvarius within the past 28 days
Addiction to drugs or alcohol

Science of Kambo
In 1986 an Italian pharmacologist and chemist of the University of Rome, Vittorio Erspamer, was responsible for first discovering the neurotransmitter Serotonin. Erspamer was twice nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and was the first person to analyze Kambo in a laboratory. He wrote that the secretion contains a “fantastic chemical cocktail with potential medical applications, unequalled by any other amphibian.”
The chemicals referred to are peptides. These peptides studied by Erspamer have become essential to characterize the functional role of opioid receptors and triggers a variety of beneficial chemical reactions in the human body. Kambo has the ability, unlike many other natural and pharmaceutical substances, to cross the blood-brain barrier, enabling it to reach deep into the body and bring support to otherwise difficult to treat areas. Human cells open up to the beneficial properties of Kambo unlike many substances that are filtered and eliminated by the body’s highly intelligent defense system.
Several peptides have since been isolated from the secretion and several have been synthesized. Currently there are over 70 Kambo patents lodged of these peptides, mainly in the US – mainly by pharmaceutical companies.
What are the bio-active and neuro peptides in Kambo?
Phyllomedusin
A neuropeptide which affects the salivary glands, tear ducts, intensives and bowels. A powerful vasodilator which stimulates the gastric secretions and contributes to purging and defecation. Contracts smooth muscles. Potent vasodilator, increasing permeability of blood-brain barrier.
Phyllocaerulein
Neuropeptide which produces strong smooth muscle contraction. Hypotension neuropeptide. Stimulates adrenal cortex and pituitary gland. Powerful analgesic properties, it diminishes pain and fatigue while increasing physical strength and resistance.
Phyllokinin
Relaxes smooth muscles. Potential in cardiovascular, inflammatory, and anti-cancer therapy. Helps remove the yeast, candida. This neuropeptide can cause a long lasting reduction in blood pressure.
Tryptophyllins
Highly potent against the yeast Candida. Potential in treating cardiovascular, inflammatory and anti-cancer treatment.
Dermorphin
A heptapeptide with opiate-like activity. Highly selective for mu opioid receptors and a powerful pain killer, 30-40 times stronger than morphine.. Transforms the immune system, harmonizes the endocrine, digestive and lymphatic system. Helps with anxiety and depression.
Deltorphin
Heptapeptide, which has a higher affinity and selectivity for delta opioid binding sites than any other natural compound known. Powerful painkiller, 4000 times stronger than morphine.
Dermaseptin
Powerful antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeast, fungi, Protozoa, and enveloped viruses that often cause infection.
Adenoregulin (Dermaseptin B2)
33 amino acid peptide that interacts with adenosine receptor, a fundamental component in all human cell fuel and has shown effectiveness in killing cancer cells. The University of Paris has revealed this peptide to be effective in killing specific types of cancer.
Additionally, other interesting properties include Kambo’s anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to destroy various types of microbes and viruses. Recent studies have revealed Kambo contains multiple antimicrobial peptides effective against drug-resistant strains of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, parasites and virus. This is revealing news for the development of innovative and more efficient treatments able to treat antibiotic-resistant strains of infectious diseases. Several years of research conducted at the University of Paris have shown the peptide Dermaseptin B2 to be very effective at killing certain types of cancer cells. Research at Queens University in Belfast recently won a prestigious award for their ground breaking work with cancer and Kambo.

We will have time before the ceremony begins to talk about intentions. If you have specific health problems then you may wish to discuss these privately beforehand, If you have serious health issues then you may benefit from more intensive treatments.
Kambo can be taken as a single or double treatment or as an intensive treatment which is three treatments in three hours. The more treatments you have, the deeper this medicine goes, but everyone will benefit from a single session. There are specialized treatments for Chakras, Meridan points, Ear Treatments, Staggered Treatment, we will be able to discuss before the session.
In some traditions, Kambo is also taken as a vaccine and is administered as 3 treatments over one moon cycle.

All first time users will be tested for sensitivity before treatments. Your reaction along with intuition and connection with the spirit of the medicine will determine the eventual number of points you receive. There is no set number – everyone is treated individually.

The Legend of Kambo
A Kaxinawá legend is told that the Indians of the tribe were very ill and their Pajé (medicine man), Kampu, had done everything that was possible to cure them. All medicinal herbs known were used, but none helped. Under the effect of sacred plant medicines, he entered the forest and whilst there received a visit from the Grandmother. She brought in her hands a frog, from which she took the secretion, and taught the Pajé how to apply it. Returning to the tribe and following the guidelines he received the Pajé cured his tribe. From then on he was known as Pajé Kampu. After his death, his spirit lived on in the frog where it continued its mission to protect the health of those who defend the forest. The Indians continue to use its secretion to stay active and healthy. The secretion became known as Kambo but in some tribes it is called Sapo, Kampu or Vacina de Floresta. It’s usage spread and it is still used widely amongst indigenous people in the Amazon to this day although the rituals vary from tribe to tribe.
